JSC “TELASI” HAS ACCOMPLISHED CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SUBSTATION “KRTSANISI”

JSC “Telasi” has accomplished the construction of a new high-voltage substation “Krtsanisi”. The commissioning of the new power facility will provide with electricity such important tourist and rapidly developing districts of the capital as Ortachala and Krtsanisi.

David Narmania, Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, Dimitri Volkov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC “Telasi”, and Sergey Kobtsev, Director General of JSC “Telasi” have attended at the substation opening ceremony.

The need to build a new substation was stipulated due to the dynamic development of Tbilisi and the increase in power demand. The substation will allow connecting new consumers to the grid within the developing area and improving the power quality parameters at the Ortachala-Krtsanisi-Tabakhmela hub.

The construction was carried out within the framework of the Telasi 2024-2029 Investment Program, on the instructions of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission. The investment volume exceeded 24 million GEL.

Under the scope of the project, the Company purchased a land plot, built a substation and installed cable lines. The substation is fitted with high-assurance equipment, including two power transformers. The substation’s operational control point and high-voltage distribution equipment employ state-of-the-art European high-voltage gas-insulated and vacuum electrical equipment, the cutting-edge microprocessor terminals for relay protection automation and signaling. The substation is also equipped with fire alarm monitoring and other necessary systems. 1400 meters of 35 kV cable power transmission lines have been built. The installed capacity of the substation is of 50 MW.

“In spite of that a rather short time was set for the construction, the project was implemented within the established deadlines thanks to the efforts of Telasi’s employees. I’d like to assure you that Telasi continues to work for the further development of the city's power grid”, stated Mr. Sergey Kobtsev, Director General of JSC “Telasi”.
